Description
Once the grapes had reached their full expression of flavour and ripeness, the fruit for this wine was picked in mid April 2025 from the young vineyard at Valleyfield. Grapes was destemmed, crushed and pressed immediately upon being received at the winery. Fermented with cultured yeasts, it was then lees stirred to build texture and mouthfeel before being blended, filtered and bottled.
Notes
The early morning picking has been designed to retain the vibrant, crunchy freshness of this variety, and it's resulted in a wine that is complex and flavoursome, but retains a bright, high-energy acidity to carry the finish. Typical apple crumble and spicy pear notes, and a lovely textured mouthfeel. An impressive wine for drinking over the next few years. Cellar: 5 years (Ray Jordan, WinePilot)
