Bell & Gong "Valleyfield Vineyard" Chardonnay
Bell & Gong "Valleyfield Vineyard" Chardonnay
2025
Description
A fruit driven and floral Chardonnay, with fruit notes of guava, grapefruit and lime, sweetened with a palate of pink musk stick and marzipan.
Notes
Elegant and beautifully styled, the wine presents aromas of white-fleshed peach, Gala apple, lemon zest, nougat and oatmeal. The palate displays excellent weight and a creamy flow, wonderfully structured by refined texture and bright acidity, with a persistent, satisfying finish. At its best: now to 2035 (Sam Kim, Wine Orbit)
This is the first chardonnay produced from a small block planted at Valleyfield in 2019. A very good Tasmanian season has been captured beautifully in this impressive debut release after malolactic fermentation. The wine was matured in a mix of new to five-year-old French oak. There is a faint struck-match complexity on the nose, which is highly appealing. The palate shows excellent texture and intensity, expressed with fine linear definition, and a delicate acidity that sustains a long finish. A wine of real complexity and excitement for this emerging site. Cellar: 8 years
